If the car is not developed for E10 then you shouldn't use it. It may damage rubber parts in the fuel system and cause leakage.
Switch to 98 octane E5 or premium fuels.

They've only "got to" stay E5 for 5 years. Alot of cars are going to be screwed after that if they bump it up, especially those that sit in garages with a tank full for months on end

E85 should be available at the pumps, and subsidised for being cleaner. The government are disgraceful hypocrites for not ensuring it is available everywhere in the UK

You do realize that you need about 50% more E85 than with the 98 octane E5? Even 60% more if you want the extra horse-power?
That could mean you would need bigger injectors and a large capacity fuel pump as well as mapping the ecu?
Also E85 in the winter isn't E85 but rather E70 because of cold start problems with E85. Your mapping must be able to cope with that (switchable maps).
It is definitely not going to be cheaper than E5.

E85 uses about 35% overall more flow. And given it is not available at any pumps anywhere...not so practical for road use.

So if using drums of race E85....will be quite expensive. Many do use home fire fuel though which is a lot cheaper.

In their made up dream world....in reality, not in our lifetimes.

Sea faring still has no alternative, flight still has no alternative, emergency services....why have they not changed yet ? Haulage ? Tractors ? diggers ? plant in general ?

It's still a million miles off for electric taking over, and until there is some mammoth breakthrough with battery technology...it won't happen

Roadworks and shit are bad enough....can you imagine when the plant digging and resurfacing roads needs an 8 hour charge every 2 hours use LOL.

There is no way will unleaded fuel totally disapear, it will just be made in far smaller quantities and cost a fortune, thats my opinion.

It's not about eradicating all fossil fuels, just dramatically reduceing the use of them

lol. Mine was never a rush always a back burner project. I also took 2-3 years out to buy my house and renovate my house. My car is an extremely expensive project as well. I saved the money as I’d never borrow to build it. My engine is sat in my parents garage 90% built up lol. Funny enough last week of August it all goes back together as it’s booked into edwards motorsport on the 6/9 for a turbo back 3.5 inch exhaust system. No matter how long it’s taken. I’m getting exactly what I wanted so I’d change nothing

That sounds expensive. My son has spent nearly £700 in parts making a 3.5” system for his Integra.

Just copied this from another page -

Although many cars run on E5 without significant problems, doubling the amount of ethanol in the fuel can cause a variety of issues in olders cars. Ethanol is hygroscopic, which means that it absorbs water from the atmosphere. And that water, in turn, finds its way into your car. It can lead to condensation in fuel tanks, fuel lines and carburettors and cause corrosion in brass, copper, lead, tin and zinc components.

In Department for Transport tests, problems identified included degradation to fuel hoses and seals, blocked fuel filters, damaged fuel pumps, corroded carbs, blocked injectors and corrosion in fuel tanks. Rubber is particularly affected

Thats some scary shit for a beginner like myself. Start playing the lottery so i can afford the dearer fuel haha

The change from 4-star to unleaded was bigger and we all survived....I'd hardly worry too much about this
