Only just got this car. Could you advise if this is normal for these engines. It’s my first experience with these cars;

yes that is normal, thats a 3 cylinder engine for you.

however if I were you, I’d get shot of it.
Faults are endless, I’ve had the bonnet up or it’s been in a garage more times than it’s been out on the road.
