First lets start with some introductions. Hi my name is Enzo and I'm an automotive engineering student in brazil So my English may not be perfect. I've been saving to buy an escort xr3 mk5. But here on brazil at the time ford had joined with vw so all escorts till 1996 came with some variant of the ea827 but having a ford with a vw motor never felt right so i started searching about swaps on the escort mk5.

But we did have the escort mk6 with an zetec 1.8 silvertop and ib5 gearbox
So I've decided to yank the VW motor out and replace it with a proper zetec and later adding some boost to it.

What i know so far is that Both mk5 (VW engine) and mk6 (Zetec) on brazil have the same subframe mounting locations, There's also a chance they are completely equal since the suspension P/N are the same.

So swapping in a powertrain from a mk6 (1.8 engine with ib5 gearbox) would theoretically be plug and play so why i don't go that route?
well first of all since horsepower is just an unhealthy addiction this swap there wouldn't be much of a upgrade but an 2.0 would definitely make it worth it . and since i plan on Boosting it I'm afraid the ib5 wont hold the power so an mtx-75 is a must

the plan is using a zetec 2.0 from either a Mondeo (silvertop) or focus (blacktop) and an mtx-75

So to my questions:
Will a Mondeo 2.0 Silvertop bolt directly in the place of an 1.8 silvertop? if not what modifications are needed?
What will be needed to put an mtx-75 on the place of an ib5?
