Wrong. With the Focus the new blacktop engines were introduced.

This is one of the earliest engines sold as 1.8 and 2.0 Liter engine (Zetec "Silvertop"). Fiesta XR2i 16V, Escort XR3i 16V (both 1.8 with 130 bhp, Fiesta RS1800 in the UK), some Fiesta/Escort sport models (depends on the country where they were sold, also 1.8 with 105 bhp) and MK1 Mondeo with 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 16V with 90/115/130 bhp. The 1.6 wasn't sold from the beginning in the Fiesta or Escort iirc. It replaced the 1.6 CVH one or two years after the first Zetec was sold.

The Zetecs always had the capacity (16, 18 or 20) cast in the block. Or you can check the engine code to be on the safe side.

 

you can fit the silvertop cam covers on blacktops though right? hence my vague answer of "its a zetec." and if he wanted to replace the engine if its blown(he doesnt state why he needs to know) he may wish to go and find a focus or mondeo engine as itll be easier to find than an escort.

Hi again, just wanted to know which it is that’s all. It’s running sweet but wasn’t exactly sure which engine or what it had come out of. Is there a way of yelling exactly?? I didn’t put the engine in.

Sticker on the top cam belt cover it will have a code.

As 'xr2' posted above it should have the CC cast into the block , so have a look for that too.

Engine code will be 2 or 3 maybe 4 digits on the sticker (I forget)

Yes still the original engine. I just put the turbo bonnet on and a turbo kit. But then had the kit filled in so it looks abit wider 👍 Also have thus aswell.
