Default Oil Consumption

Hi mates, i have a ford focus 99 with a zetec -S 1.6L, and i noticed that it consumed about 0.6L with 342Km. It does not smoke, and neither has leaks, the only oil i found on motor is below intake manifold
Oil i use is Ford formula F 5w30, oil changed 342Km ago.
What could be wrong?
Thanks

When you say .6 Liter down ?
when you put the oil in to start with was it cold ??
And when you dipped it to find .6 Liters down was the engine hot or cold ??

Because if it was still hot oil will be still stuck all over the place inside the motor and as it sits there turned off the oil will start to come up . It might just be that mate

I've seen a few of these that burn oil, hav you tried holding the revs at around 3000rpm for a few mins while the vehicle is stationary and assess whats coming out the tail pipe? You don't normally notice them smoking under normal driving.

Hi all, i am gonna share some think that does not add up.
As you all read before, car does eat oil, but without smoke (just a little bit when starting to move after a complete stop, traffic lights per example). so, i have been keeping an eye on oil levels and here it is what i found.
Today i check oil level, it was close to 2mm above min mark(0.150ml left before reaching min mark), so, i started to fill it up, 100ml a time, and when it reach out max mark, only topped up 0.35ml of oil. the thing is, according to ford, min to max is 0.75L (zetec-S 1.6L, on focus mk1, sedan), how come only 0.35ml make it to max mark?
Oil level was checked before , and topped after, on the same parking spot to avoid terrain deviation. any thoughts?
Thanks

possably it could be the vaulve guide seals thats a classic when stopped at lights slight smoke when pulling of again.or find a long steep hill let it go and bail out dont forget your work bag if on way home lol. no find a long steep hill if possable select third gear or try fourth let it go down on over run make sure the engine is hot over run means no throttle the engine will try suckking oil through guide seals but keep looking in the rear view or take some one with you when there really bad they can smoke like fook
