Default First go at tig welding

Morning all, I ended up buying a rally design tig welder, a bottle of argon and some consumables, I haven’t tried to weld aluminium yet because the instructions are not particularly clear on what all the knobs do!

I filmed my first welding job of filling a couple of numbers plate holes on my metro, any advice is appreciated

Hold the torch like a pencil between your thumb and finger,

Make sure you have your leads on the right way around the earth clamp goes to + when tig welding.

Maybe post a photo of your connections

Also keep your arms covered as like most welding TIG gives off UV rays

I was using 2.4, I understand that on a thin panel it should have been thinner but I didn’t have any,, building up the consumables stock is on the list
