My name is raz and i would do bad things for an RST

Growing up, my dad was a mechanic at a garage close to home in a town called barrowford. I spent all my years as a child flying round the backroads in the passenger seats of all his cars,escorts,fiestas etc and loved it. as I've grown older,ive obviously caught the bug... and now am looking at building my own S2 RST,with every last detail planned and ready.
I'm looking to have this as a project to work on with my dad, as i spent a lot of my life without him and it would be perfect to bond over.

After looking at cars to build on, i had a brilliant idea! what if i could track down my dads old series 2 escort?

i remember how gorgeous it looked sat outside the house even now

it was stripped down bare, and rebuilt over 9 months in the early 2000's. he ordered ferrari red paint direct from ferrari and resprayed the whole shell, and he believes that to his knowledge it was the only one around at the time in that colour.

lowered 40mm front and rear, all engine built by himself upto 250bhp,hella rear smoked lights,ferrari red paint, reg was Q353 BAU

he said he sold it to a lad in clitheroe (our hometown) called chris in early 2000's, and did a part exchange with him for a fiesta rs supersport + 2k cash his way.
The supersport was built too, 3 speed box @90mph in around 4 seconds. (dad says he owned it for 2 weeks and had to sell it because it was going kill him lol)

I've had a look around town and spoken to a few people but can't find anything. dad cant remember chris's last name, otherwise id be onto him yesterday. checked the reg and the car was tax due 6th may 2007, & mot expired april 19th 2007.

last v5 was issued in november of 2007

I've no idea where to go from here without hiring a private investigator lol, so thought id turn to the PF community for any help at all!!

Hi raz great story! Checking mot history 2007 failed on a lot with rust big issue could well of been scrapped unfortunately 😞best of luck anyway

 

cheers bud! hit me in the feels lol, i wouldn't put it past it being scrapped but id like to think i will find it ☹️

fingers crossed, if not my old boss has a S2 that he bought a few years back and stored, pretty sure he'd part with it for the right price. does need work doing however, hopefully ill be able to start up a project thread in the next few months!
