Hi, my engine sounds like I’ve got piston slap. It’s also smoking like mad (oily white smoke) when revs are raised. The pistons were brand new acralite and H rods so guessing the lad that built bottom end sized piston incorrectly?? Just looking for fastest and cheapest way to get her out this summer.

guy who runs it is Mick Arnold he did all my engine work and i brought my car over from Ireland that was over 2 years ago car still flying absolutely no issues

I’m hoping to just get hold of ready built bottom end at min. Or complete mfi engine.

I’ll have my existing sorted at a later date when I’ve got bit more time and money. Be nice to just swap engines one weekend, get set up and back on road for the summer. (Well if we aloud out that is)

 

Tell the guy who built it he needs to source you a replacement or run him over with it lol

 

LoL, mate he’s long gone with my cash in hand (ebay), I did the top end, water pump, oil pump and cambelt then ended up been a full car restoration so Only just got round to running engine. Thought was just a tappy cam so fit a Newman with solid lifters. Was running Cam in and was smoking like mad. comp test only showed 9 bar on each cylinder n def got piston slap. The Cars a Nightmare/money pit lol
