Question Escort cosworth Track race car electric power steering conversion

Is it possible to retro fit an aftermarket electric power steering pump to a 4X4 standard rack on an escos? something like the vauxhall astra type, has anyone done a conversion of this type. like the one in the pic

Lots of rally cars used to do this, the common pump used back then was the Citroen Saxo electric unit.

Can't see why the Astra one couldn't be used though. It's become a much less common conversion these days though, as most people use the electrically powered steering column from a Corsa C.

I have the standard 4X4 power steering rack and was looking at still using that, just want to use power assistance not attatched to the engine.
