Hi i bought a focus st3 225 mk 2 55 plate 3 weeks ago and test drove it fine and left deposit ,day after drove it away and soon as i hit motoway it started to splutter and missfire , took to a garage and coil pack 2 burnt out , replaced and drove away 20 min later same again , took back coil num 2 again . Replaced spark plugs with bosch original and coil pack 2 and 20 min later same again ,it seems to start under load ,took back auto electricial worked on it found one or 2 bare wires and replaced and put coil pack 2 and 5 on garage left on tick over for an hour and no idle drop it was perfect , i picked up and drove away and within 20 min driving again spluttering , no engine light ,no codes .all wire loom checked and this is driving me mad as ive had car 3 weeks and ive not had the pleasure of having a proper drive with out this sputter starting . Has anybody had this prob as the cars had one owner and spent alot of money on it with induction kit ,rs clutch ect. Jam sport mod , top engine rebuild .i managed to get hold of him and got chatting and bought the dreamscience imap so i can putcar back to stock as its running on 320 bhp so im thinking that was the issue but he says its always run on 320 and never had that prob ,could anyone help with this issue as these coil packs are geting expensivewen ur on ur7th one .thks
