You may have lost some wheel balancing weights from one of the front wheels.

Swap front wheels to back, if steering vibration goes away it's a tyre or rim issue

Could be a drive shaft??

Check for buckled wheels.

I would start with checking the most obvious thing first and that is the wheel nuts. Then I'd make sure the tyre pressures are correct before having the wheels balanced. I had a similar issue a while ago when I had new front tyres. I noticed a very slight vibration at certain speeds. The tyre fitter couldn't of balanced the wheels correctly cos once it was done again it was fine.
But as others have said it could be any number of things from tyres that have worn oddly, buckled rims, drive shafts etc. I also had a drive shaft go on a Mk2 focus st and that was horrible. Felt like a bloody wheel was gonna fall off!

Why not try the most usual reason first, if the front tyres are in good condition get the wheels balanced and see if that fixes it. It is a process of elimination and a wheel balance does'nt take long and is not costly

Your right, I'll check the obvious myself then get it booked in to get the wheels/tires checked and go from there

Checked it over today, drivers rear wheel has a flat spot on the actual rim itself. Ill either order another wheel or get that one repaired. I'll also get the rear tyres replaced while I'm at it and get the balancing checked on the fronts checked at the same time.

Just noticed if you scroll down, you'll see that in 2018 I had the exact same problem before, which was also the drivers side rear

Probably a bloody big pothole you drove in!!! There are plenty of them!! At least you have found the problem and can now sort it out.

Problem now fixed
took the car to a wheel repair specialist this morning, they straightened out the damaged rear wheel and replaced the rear tires. I drove home with no vibrations!

I would of previously bet money the issue was caused by something at the front of the car but at least it was easily fixed.

I thought it was more likely to be a front wheel problem but the main thing is you have got it sorted out and have vibration free driving again!!!
