Default Beginning efforts to bring a 1990 Sierra RS Cos 4X4 to Group N Spec

Hi All,

I've recently imported the aforementioned to the US, SoCal specifically. The car, a LHD model, appears to my current level of investigation rust-free with 41k kilometers and records show many details related to provenance. It has been a street car and has some investments in engine tuning that will documented when I have a chance to put in on 4WD dyno. Several questions for the group.
1. As Montune US is nearby and will undertake a rebuild to achieve varying outputs the issue is that the 200 block, as I understand it, can be brought to varying levels of tune. I would ask whether a bullet proof 400 bhp is possible? If so, I would appreciate recommendations regarding build bits.
2. Welding: The Group N specs allow a limited amount of welding. What structural changes beyond welding are recommended?
3. Wheels and tires: Currently, stock wheels are carrying 205/50/15 R rubber. What wheel type/tire would be recommend to comport with the Group N standard?

Would appreciate any other inputs and recommendations.

Howard

Thanks for your response and willingness to connect me with another US based Cosworth person. I'm not on FB but can be reached by email which I'll share with you directly if the forum allows.
