Default Xr3i Spotlight Trouble

Hi all , looking for a bit off help with my recently purchased spotlights for my 89 cab/xr3i.
Problem is when i plug them into the wire thats already there i cant get them working.
Car is a running project so have to check everything it had been sitting years before i got it.
Is there a separate fuse (whats the location on fuse board?) or does it run off the front lights or fog lights?
And also is there going to be a switch already inside the car to turn them on or would i need to add one?
Thanks for any help.
