Any help me here. Looking to swap my 1.6i engine in my 87 Xr3i. Something more upto date which will go straight in or as near as. Any help would be much appreciated

Just look on ebay at a 1.8 or 2L silver top zetec .

 

As mat said. Cant go wrong with a Zetec conversion..its been done many a time.

I've seen a few mk5 Eacort RS2000 Engines in mk3 and 4 escorts too..I got told these engines catch on the bonnet though so you rather have to mod the engine mount or the bonnet.
