Here she is.
This is a Merkur XR4Ti which is as close as America go to a Cossie.
It's the same as an XR4i but they were built at Karmann in Germany and fitted with the South American 2.3 Turbo "Lima" engine.
I have heard that they got some kind of "909" shell as it was easier to get that through the American crash regs...but who knows.

Anyway...lets get to the photos ad the Youtube videos...

She's a 1988 Autotragic model.


The first time I saw her.

 

 

The previous owner said it had got hot and a mechanic had wired the A/C fan to come on with the cooling fan...they didn't say and probably didn't know that he'd removed the thermostat as well...it was a mess...


New parts in

This was the inside of the water passage in the intake manifold

I recently did a Photobucket "rescue my pics" screen grab session.
Here are a couple of my old cars.
The white one got a 302 V8, Jetta front bumper, Supra diff and a bunch of other stuff and the black one got a full Merkur Scorpio 5 lug swap to fit Mercedes wheels, UK base grill and a Mercury Tracer front bumper.

 

Got a bit more done.
She's running now...motor's a bit wounded though because of the level of corrosion from having straight water in for so long.

I got some Comp Struts from Burton Power & some polys for the front end. Sorted out the steering rack boots etc.



Then one of my pets hates about the American spec Sierra is the silly 80s crash regulation bumpers...so I fitted a Mercury Tracer bumper.





Then as it's over 100 degrees here right now gave her a wash & prepped her for the heat.
