I think the issue is the original style connectors are no longer available and i guess most people would upgrade the pump at the same time anyway.
Whats your voltage at the pump? I know its more money but put an 044 in or DW350 and be done with it.
That should do the job as you are still using the O/E fuel pump. Some others have said fit a new 044 uprated pump but it is not needed unless you are going for a big power increase.
Probably should have started a new thread but am I correct in thinking the original pump can be replaced with a 044 without causing any problems. I am guessing it just causes more fuel to be returned to the tank than before with one fitted.
Thanks David

Im no expert but I thought it was the fuel regulator that governs the flow and pressure of the fuel system! But will probably be corrected on that by someone who is more mechanically minded with me.
I got told to fit a 0044 pump cause they supply more fuel. The difference between the electrical connections on the 2 pumps are. The 0044 pump uses ring terminals and 2 nuts to attach the wiring connections to the pump. A standard cossie pump has 2 push in connectors.
I understood it that the o44 had a higher pump rate....getting more fuel to business end quicker so to avoid lean running on bigger bhp engines..
You are correct,my Saff has 890cc Siemens injectors and a T38 turbo so needs an uprated 044 fuel pump but with a standard power engine it is not needed.
I replaced the loom with one similar to yours due to low voltage at the pump, decided to replace my original pump with an 044 whilst it was up in the air just as a 'belt and braces' fix.
I've had no problems whatsoever since doing it, fuel pressure at the rail is exactly where it needs to be and holds it whilst under boost, which the old set up wasn't doing.
