Hi i ust put a Powerflow straight-thru back box on my Zetec Mk4 Escort, rest of the system is still standard XR3i (2" bore and straight-thru middle box). Sounds great at low revs nice low tone but gets raspy when I put my foot down

Can anyone suggest a decent middle box? Think they're called resonators, which i thought that meant that was the bit that takes the rasps out, i considered a cherry bomb centre but they don't even look as big as the standard box i'd of thought it'd need to be bigger to smooth the sound out
