Default Black top zetec!!

Hi Guys, I have a mk6 fiesta ZS but looking for abit more power and have been put onto a 2.0 litre zetec and turbo it. My question is what sort of power will they take standard? Or will I have to put rods and pistons in? Not after stupid power say about 200-230bhp

Cheers,,

There are to many variables to say it will hold x,y or z.

But,,,A well respected tuner tunes these to around 250. A lot has to do with how it’s tuned, how it’s built and how well it’s all matched together. Make sure there is NO detination, keep inlet temps down, don’t go for a stupid big or prehistoric turbo, don’t hold it constantly on the limiter and you will be fine. You can use a decompression plate but I prefer the idea of instant response.

So what your saying is they will take 250 comfortably tuned right with just a decomp plate is it mate??

its not a daily driven car just something that would be driven on the weekend or to a show and maybe to work now and then?

just trying to weigh up options before I commit to anything because I can’t be armed with an ST150 lump as they’re poo

cheers mate

Standard with standard compression is 250 MAX.

standard compression is 10:1

Ive built three, two standard blacktops and an St/blacktop hybrid with just thicker head gaskets. There only mapped to 220 ish but I havnt run them in anger yet.
Soon, I am waiting on my new intercooler to crack on.

The St150 Duratec engine is a good engine but no where near as robust as a Blacktop. It won’t take boost as easy either. More suited to throttle bodies and programable aftermarket management.
