Default Wife's mk2 focus st (6/10/19 update)

Hi guys so while doing my rs I will be tinkering with the wife's st. I bought it her for her 30th birthday last month. She is very well specced. As goes,

Jamsport ECU Remap
RS Turbo Conversion
RS Clutch and Injectors
RS Pistons and Conrods
RS Oil Cooler
RS Airtec Front Mounted Intercooler
Full 3 Piper Exhaust
Induction Kit
Torque Mount
Hard Boost Pipe Kit
EBC discs with pads
Modified front grille
turbo smart recirc valve
White line rear anti roll-bar and power flex bushes up front
Black roof, custom front grill
Blockmod done

a list of things to get are,

rs MAP and MAF sensors
550cc injectors
rs airtech crossover pipe
high flow fuel pump
and then back to jamsport for rs software and a remap
rs spoiler
rs bonnet vent

parts I already have,

BC racing coilovers
anembo inlet
collecting a set of AP racing brakes and spacers in a few weeks. Wife also wants the engine bay hydrodipped so once she has decided on what I will do it (well try).

I’ve a receipt saying 280 from a re map but I’ve no idea. I will at some point fit a bigger front intercooler. I’ve fitted a cat back mongoose system it dose go well to be fair. Next job on the list is the drivers seat base as it moves about and creeks. I’ll look at that Monday when I pick it up from work.

She looks nice and clean mate. What does she sound like? Wife's is pretty quite on a normal drive when full throttle sounds angry

You can notice it’s there as there’s no middle box. But I’m happy as it isn’t loud and doesn’t drone. Has a nice burble on idle and on boost it dose get louder. It pops and bangs a little if you nail the arse off it and get it up to the limiter

owned and broke these not a bad car at all, they do suffer a fair bit with tedious gremlins which cost time rather than actual money, jamcock is the only tuner I would not let near any car of mine let alone advertise them so hoping yours is a exception to the rule, they do like eating driveshafts and oil filter housings thats for sure, best of british with it

I do here some things about them but in all fairness the wife's car is pretty awesome and can't complain about it. But talking about driveshafts I do need to sort these ones out

Finally got the seat fixed. You read about it a lot on line but as I find with most of the jobs on these cars there’s no real info on fixes or pictures. Seat issue is the bar at the back of the seat that goes from side to side. Seat out job but it’s fairly easy to be fair. Million times better now as doesn’t move and continually squeak and rattle.

that's looks a good job mate nice and tidy. At least should it happen to the Mrs I know what to do. Have you had any problems with the bonnet latch? As that's another common problem with them breaking

I haven’t personally but I did see on Facebook there’s a company that sells a conversion kit that converts them to a normal style cable pull release. With a lever that sits in the passenger foot well

ok so an unfortunate event took place on friday while I was in my wife's st on the way back home. Coming down the motorway a huge plume of blue/black smoke came out the back like a smoke screen. Managed to get to the services with no power at all as I was going into a space it completely shut off. Anyway got home and stripped it down a little to see what I could find. Loads of oil at front and the oil filter housing is melted a tad as can be seen in the 3rd picture. Theres oil in the inlet manifold and also can see small metal particles (looks like glitter) in the filter. So the next thing is check the turbo and check some other parts.

So went a little deeper last night. Checked plugs looked down to piston. No water or anything (did forget to say shes lost water too) plugs need changing which will be done. Checked her by the crank spins freely. But I did unearth some wires that are melting away as has the cam cover so will need to redo the wiring. Also want to check the turbo shaft to see what that's like.

Default Wife's mk2 focus st oil filter housing fail

so I took the oil filter housing off today took the top of and was greeted with this mess. So needless to say this will be changed. I want to take the sump off to see if there is anything else wrong as in the bottom of the housing and filter is some small metal bit. Turbo is fine though.

I'm not to sure mate. Theres a few possibilities that I'm trying to find out. I'm going to check the battery tomorrow as that can cause a few faults if the voltage is low

Yeah I’ve read they don’t like the wrong battery and a fucked battery can cause all sorts of electrical issues. All the plastic melted like that is odd though. Almost like it’s been mega hot
