MK3 Fiesta 2.0 Blacktop Zetec Conversion
Hi, firstly thanks for taking the time to read.
I have recently bought a 1991 mk3 fiesta 1.1 bonus, and yesterday a 2.0 zetec black top engine from a x reg focus 2.0 esp.
I'm looking for a little advice and just to confirm somethings I've found out about how to go about doing this conversion.
First thing is apparently the 2.0 flywheel and clutch wont work with the gearbox I intend to use (Its a 5SPD from a 1.6CVH mk4 escort) the solution is a 1.8 silver top flywheel and 220mm clutch. Can anyone tell me which clutch is best to use?
Engine mounts are not a direct swap with the S3 Blacktop so I either have the choice of using the single focus top engine mount on its own, or modifying later 16v XR2i mounts? Is it purely down too personal choice whether or not too chop the inner wing, or is one better than the other?
The water pump turns in the wrong direction once you have removed things from the secondary belt. This seem to sort of coincide with moving the alternator to the front.
The last one was it sounds like the sump is very low on the 2.0? does this create any other issues besides the exhaust not clearing? how low is low? could I just make an extension piece for the exhaust?
