Default T34 turbo with Garrett 30/71r core

Im thinking of getting my t34 with 63 exhaust housing upgraded , I spoke to turbo dynamics they said I could send it to them and they could make a custom gt38 using a ballbearing 30/ 71r core . Has anyone had similar or know how this will perform ?

So like 301 ? 350 ? 450 ? 550 ?

GT30 of any kind is a poor choice for only 300hp ( although a T34 isnt exactly great either )

There are just better more modern alternatives, and choice will depend on budget. Whether BW EFR, Precision or some of the newer GTX Garrett's, probably in GT25 format

At the cheap end there are some good oil journal BW's too. Although most may require some fab work.

Why not just go for a gt3071r in the correct spec for your engine?

Cheers Paul

That is like similar to utt38... Mine t34 comp housing was machined for bigger wheel.. Ball bearing.. Ex housing 63.. Not much impressed with it..i use it only for few thous. Km.. Not much torque but performs well.... .still have it on side as spare if something goes wrong with new one..

I modified my gt2860rs by fitting an after market GTX2860 compressor wheel. It has a -48 exhaust housing on the back. It is very responsive, boosts 24psi from around 3100rpm up to 5800rpm when the boost drops off to 19psi till redline 7000rpm. For what it's worth the car was put on the dyno and came back with 327bhp and 325 pounds per foot torque.
It's a very usable car cosworth YB engine.

Tim.
