So, I have my eye on a blown 91 escort on craigslist. But if I buy it and swap the engine I want it rwd and cheap. solution? Miata Is Always The Answer. I searched the forums and didn't find anything too useful for this. My basic idea is still in the developmental stages but mainly get a rust freeish running miata with cosmetic damage (if it was too nice I would feel bad ripping apart a perfectly good machine), salvage the engine, tranny, basically whole drivetrain, and just rip the body panels off and weld the escort body onto the miata frame. Sound plausible? how about adding the 3" lift from paco moto to the forzda miascort? anyway what is your opinions on this? anyone have experience welding bodys to other frames of cars? if its stupid tell me why i am open to all comments, but give me reasons, or ideas? Anything is greatly appreciated!
