Default What’s cheapest engine conversion for a mk3 base model fiesta??

I have a mk3 base model fiesta, 1.3 push rod, 5 speed manual.

whats the cheapest / easiest conversion to make it bearable to drive? I’m guessing buy a complete early silvertop Mondeo?

i have an ST170 engine that’s not being used, but guessing this is a more expensive route?

Its literally a banger I use for work- so will be a proper budget build!

The more you can make work the less it will cost.

What bits have you got for the St ?

What reg is your mk3 as that will determine if you need to meet higher mot emissions and a cat test. Ie carbs will be no good if you need a cat and lambda test for mot.

It’s M reg, but an MOT won’t be a problem if you know what I mean..

i have the complete engine, but that’s about it. I have a blacktop inlet manifold and throttle body, ka gearbox with master cylinder for hydraulic clutch conversion, a S2 RST lsd, a standard blacktop head and a few other bits laying about I could use...
