Default Opinions on rolling front arches?

I Have been thinking of trying some 18” wheel just for the only reason that they look so good on a sapph but know there is so many conflicting opinions on them!

I Just want some opinions from you guys on rolling the front arches, the car is in primer at the moment so is the perfect time to do it if I can make my mind up,
The arches are original and rot free “I know this as I’ve owned the car since 91”

The only thing that’s putting me off is weakening the wings or creating a water trap also the fitment of the arch liners, I’ve never looked close at one done so don’t really know.

It’s rwd and lowered by 25mm not coil-overs also have read that some rwd sapph s are ok on 18’s without rolling?

Opinions and info please guys.

Go for it.

You could either get them rolled and the joint filled with sealer to stop them trapping water or if it’s all in primer just grind the entire lip off if it all as you’ll be painting it anyway

You could just trim the liners down, or just remove them for more clearance

I trimmed my liners back for better clearance as they didn't meet the wing anymore anyway.
235/40 17s for me though.

I would also say go for it,had my front and rear arches rolled years ago on my 2wd Saff and had no problems with them.Gives peace of mind when you have a lowered car with bigger/wider wheels and tyres.

Did they not sag without being attached to the arch?

Rolled mine and bend the liner points so the liner is mounted as OE...Lowered with Eibach spring on Koni/Bilstein dampers on 8x18" E33 with 225/35 tyres on my 88' 2wd Sap. Cos....

as above ,225/35 tyres are best but you will need to cut spring cup or use coilovers on the front

Thanks to all for the input, I have decided to keep it untouched as when it was stripped back to bare metal all was straight and rust free example with all original panels apart from the roof which I replaced, so thought better of it.

Cheers again

Is it only the fronts that need rolling?
