How to make a mk3 fiesta handle well on a track???
Right, I have a base model mk3 fiesta, that I’m building a Zetec turbo engine for. I have pretty much everything to finish it now.
its solely being built for a track car.
so far I have AVO coilovers and rear hub angled shims.
it has 300mm ST170 discs with Wilwood 4 pot callipers on the front, with 5 spoke Team Dynamics wheels.
i was thinking of fitting adjustable front top mounts so I could lean the shock absorbers in at the top for some negative camber???
Apart from this, does anyone have any other info or tricks on how to make a mk3 fiesta handle really well?
i used to have a mk5 Zetec S fiesta with a Puma engine, that just had cheap coil overs, slicks and ET30 offset wheels (they stick out past the standard wings) and that handled absolutely spot on.
Woild apreciate any info on making this into a beast for the track
I'd start by ditching the Avo's.
I'd recommend talking to someone like Daniels Motorsport who have built numerous Fiesta Championship Class A (mk3) Fiesta's.
Some pro driving tuition. Pound for pound it'll improve your lap times more than any single mechanical mod. Ensure you can extract ever last ounce of performance out of yourself before spending on the car. It'll also teach you where you car is deficiant, so it allows you to spend your money more effectively further down the line.

100% this.
Then take out weight where possible and fit some good quality track rubber.
Then get even more training and never stop, keep an open mind as there is always something to learn and you will enjoy track days much more with every step you learn.
Mines full race spec. Rose jointed and solid bushes rear. Out handles lots of things but I started with standard and had lots of seat time learning the car. Also setup for track. 2.6 degree camber. And 1.2 tow
