RBT Front imbalance 41% Mondeo 2.0 TDCi 2010
Hi,
so Max has just failed on brake imbalance (and a number plate light).
The tester said the offside brake was engaging much later than the near side with less force. Reading around I should be feeling a heavy pull to one side whilst braking but I don’t, at all!
What would this most likely be? Sliding pins?

If it were me I would be squeezing the Pistons back and see if you pull the calliper in and out. This should prove the sliders are free and should be able to check the pads are free too. Make sure you get a bit of heat into your brakes before it goes on the brake rollers too. If your tester is ok he will check before he logs it on to check. If the prob persists I have swaped the pads from left to right in the past and had good results. This is assuming your discs are not to badly grooved/worn. Hope this helps

I hav'nt tbh, I've done rbt on many many occasions. The rollers have measured high brake imbalance some times well over 50%. I've taken the car down the road to warm the brakes and thought well I can't feel a bloody thing ! Warming the brakes can help them.
