escort van pump getting no diesel
hi.
i have an escort diesel van 1.8 non turbo that ive put the 1.8 td with intercooler into.
Its all timed up ok, drill bits in pump and cam pulley all line up. turns over but no diesel at injectors.
its a lucas pump.
Its got the start stop solenoid wired up to a switch, it clicks when getting a live.
There are 2 wires from solenoid on the front of the pump wired up to live and earth, this clicks when live. does anyone know what this solenoid does?
There are 5 wires from the back of the pump nearest the block. i do not know what these go to and wiring up to live to them make no difference to it getting no diesel at the injectors.
Any info would be great as i am getting nowhere with it and its driving me insane.
i do have a bosch pump and injectors but its off a peugeot 406 and the pulley is 20mm too big.
Thanks.

thanks for the reply. i have changed the pump from the one that came with the engine as i damaged the fuel unions when trying to get the anti tamper cover off.
is there any way to bypass the immobiliser? i thought fitting the original start stop fuel solenoid with a live would do it but it hasnt. thanks.
