Default Ford Escort Mk1. T5 Sierra box

I would like to fit a T5 gearbox to my Mk1 Escort as we are also installing a BDA engine.
Does anyone know if this is this a relatively straightforward exercise?
Cheers

If your car was an auto from factory then yes if not you will have to fit another tunnel from a Sierra or you can get pre formed tunnels from Rally Design, Escort TEC, Motorsport tools to name a few.

Also check out turbosport.co.uk which is mainly escort based forum.

A t9 would be eaiser with uprated internals as you can use the std tunnel and just a modded gearbox crossmember.
Depends if you can get a t9 in nz???
