Default NVQ level 3 or equivalent? MOT testers course

Hi all, I've not been on here for years but used to be a regular alot of years ago! Anyway hope someone can offer some advise, basicly I have nvq level 2 in light vehicle repair. I am also class 4 MOT tester and have been for last ten years.

I have applied for a job in the rail industry who are insisting on nvq level 3 or equivalent. I've had all the entrance exams and interview, the job is all but mine except for not being able to show proof of NVQ level 3 or equivalent.

I have emailed DVSA and everyone else I can think of. ABC awards, IMI, but all say the current qualification is a level 2, but no one can answer if the old VOSA course is a level 3 equivalent or not as VOSA no longer deal with training.

Anyone here have any bright ideas? I seem to remember there used to be at least one VOSA employee on here? Was he called James??

In my current job they took my mot licence as equal to being level 2 nvq qualified as I have no formal qualifications just time served. Not sure if that helps but apparently colleges etc regard mot licence as equal to level 2 nvq/city and guilds

Old tester qualification had no relevant level attached. But, it was aimed at L2, just as the new one is.

thanks for the reply guys, I had a nasty suspicion that would be the answers I would get. I think I'm probably clutching at straws to be perfectly honest. I have seen this course advertised;

http://www.prestigemot.co.uk/ourcourses/

and do wonder for £695 doing the imi Accreditiation will that give me the NVQ level 3 equivalent to then legitimatly claim I have an NVQ level 3 equivalent? Views?
