Default Retro fitting Air Con to 3dr Cosworth

Hi all I'm new to this site and just bought my school boy poster car a 1987 3 door Cosworth that's had a nut and bolt restoration, its like brand new. The car is totally original and i'm not planning to modify it as i just want to keep it original but i do need to look at installing Air Con. I live in Australia so the car will never rot out here but in order for me to drive it occasionally i need to find some way to cool it internally.
Does anybody know if its possible to buy a ford kit that can be retrofitted or does anybody even have a system that will work i can buy from you please?
Many thanks

Ford originally did a dealer fit kit for the lhd sierra markets fitted with a pinto, my RS500 had it on from new as did a few 3drs.

Given your location then an aftermarket pinto kit for an escort or Cortina would do the job.

Martin at Reyland motosport retro fitted a sapphire kit to his RS500, it does need the bulkhead modifying, using the buldge from a air con equiped car plus lots of other mods, worthwhile mod due to your location tho,
I have a spare sierra air con kit here with most of the pipes, compressor, rad brackets etc

I have also retrofitted aircon to my Sapph, it's in the project thread of my 24v Sapph. You can clearly see the bulkhead that needs to be changed. I guess it won't be much different on a mk1 Sierra.

Your new 3door sounds like a great car. In Australia there are lots of car air conditioning specialists, if you cant find an original Ford set up have you looked into what one of them could come up with? Modern air-con units have come a long way and maybe there is a set up that could be fitted into your car.

I just took everything from a ghia, and converted the belts to poly-v belts, using the big heavy bracket they used on the 4x4 saph to mount the alternator etc...
