I’ve read the mk3 Mondeo front calipers can be used as a 300mm upgrade on a Sierra with the St170 discs.

But can the ST170 calipers be used ? I have all four corners that I keep tripping over.

depends on what car you are fitting them to

as long as you can run 16" wheels it won't matter
the focus ones are supposed to be slimmer so that you can fit them under certain 15" wheels but the main issue is going to be the offset on the "ears" and the requirement to fit a spacer between them
the st170 has a top hat of 44mm from memory

 

Hmm thanks I won’t bin them just yet then but I really don’t won’t to go over 15" rims

 

Can I ask what you mean by top hat ? I know my way around a Zetec or two but I havnt played with brake swaps much.

 

I had mk3 mondeo calipers and ST170 front discs under my Ford pumas 15inch wheels. I had to trim the calipers a bit. I had them on the car for over a year with no problems.
