We are thinking about viewing this car on ebay, have exchanged texts/etc, has anyone gone to seen it as we are 4 hours away, any help would be much appreciated.

The interior looks mouldy and needing attention in the pics but seems a nice car for that sort of money.

 

It hasnt met the reserve yet but it looks pretty good for the money.
Personally I cant see the point of having a wanna be RS 500, if I bought it I would just make it look like a tidy 3 door.I couldnt be assed bullshitting to people that its an RS 500 but thats just me, for other people it may not bother them.

Full nut and bolt restore, but they've left half the interior out, and what they have in there looks like it's seen better days.
exhaust looks like it's seen better days too.
where's the fuel filter?

Ł12.5k? I'd put that sort of cash into a decent Saff rather than go for a half arsed 3dr replica

He's got a lorra bids. But this is eBay, so there's no guarantee he will actually get to see a single penny.

 

Remember the black 3 door,a311 lyt or something was the plate.
That was changing hands recently for around 7500-12500 iirc and it was tidier than that.
I'd imagine the kit on the white 1 is fibreglass,interior looks scruffy and wheels look naff.
That's someone else's problems I'd say going by the pics.

I already have an gen sapp and a 3 door replica with a bob turbo and fancy a 3 door with a yb already done, we priced up the YB conversion is coming to near 7-9k, so was thinking of getting one already done.

Yes its a fibre glass kit and was wondering where the fuel filter was, he wants 15k for the car.

I think the black one on eBay with the replica 500 bits on looks a better car and I know it's more expensive but it's been for sale for a while so might be able to get it for less.

What about the white genuine 3 door on eBay for 20k I know there's movement on the price on that one

 

Can I ask, if you did buy a replica non genuine RS 500 how would you feel when people started asking you questions about it? Would you come clean straight away and tell them its not an RS 500? I cant see the point of a mock up of the real thing myself. A guy near me has a standard escort which he has tried to make look like an Escort Cosworth competition car complete with stickers and graphics etc but when its on the road you can tell just by the engine and exhaust noise its not a genuine one.
Each to their own but to me its a pointless exercise.

 

I suppose the be all and end all is because the rs500 looks more aggressive, many people with replicas dont bullshit people that their cars are the real deal thats more the game of the folk who have rung a cosworth/rs turbo/mk1 and 2 escort RS etc into another shell so they can still pass it off as real.

 

Some people just like the look of a particular model, but because that model might be rare, expensive, impractical or whatever, they make their own. And why not? It's their car. I wouldn't give a tommy tit what someone else thought, and that's how I ended up with a lowered, spoilered, polybushed, RS vented fusion. Anyone who doesn't like it can kiss my considerably hairy arse.

I don't tell people what they should do with their cars.

^exactly, I have a rs500 rep, I use this in the loosest term as frankly I have made the exterior look like one but a colour of my liking, the rest is built to a spec that suits me, so I don't give a flying monkeys anus, just can't wait to get it painted

 

The black rep what the deal with the back wheel looking to far forward or is it just angle of pic looked at it a few times white one looks well get seats redone easy enough

But if you remove the kit they will be in the centre of the
Bodyworks steel arch
That's the way they are

 

I dont tell people what they should do with their cars either, as I said Replicas suit some people but I am not a fan and thats my choice.

i used to adore how the 500 looked ,but as ive got older i prefer the more understated look of the 3drs.

theirs nothing wrong with replicas except the prices lol

 

Indy as said just keep your 3dr and YB that.

By the time you have sold the BOB turbo, etc it woll only be afew grand more
