Default engine swop or not?

Hi all ,ive got a 98 mondy mk2 2.0 45k genuine miles would engine fit in a 2000 mk1 focus 1.6. Which is excellent condition but done 180k many thanks .

It will fit if you find all the relevant parts from a 2.0 focus. It's a lit of work when you could just buy a 2.0 focus.

a mk1 focus will cost you less than the hassle of an engine swap

Wouldn't be worth the hassle. Just buy a 2.0 Focus, not exactly a rare car.

Full exhaust, engine loom, maybe interior loom, ecu, air box, engine mounts suspension springs etc would all be needed from a donor focus. Then after that you will still have a wanked out old focus with a new engine. Not worth it imo.

It's a lot of work.

The arse ach of dealing with Dvla.

Worth it for a track car but not as a daily runner. All the little bits would add up to more than it's worth.

Many thanks to all havn't been able to get on line until now !thats a shame just its a genuine 45k engine & the focus is near mint for its age , but ifs it a load work i leave it .Thanks again.
