Default Shipping front wings

As above please, would like to ship some front wings as it’s a 6 hour round trip, and would really like them to not get damaged, anyone used anyone reliable before? Or have any tips on packaging to help.

Thanks.

I got 2 new front wings posted from Newcastle to Lincoln. The guy used UPS. they were wrapped in the large bubble wrap first, cling film, more bubble wrap then stiff card board. They arrived perfect.

just make sure it can be dropped from a great height and not damaged, and make sure you can stack lots on top without damaging it too

I would consider loads and loads of bubble wrap, then shrink wrap to a pallet with labels saying do not stack.

If you dont want them damaged, build a suitable wooden box. It's as simple as that really.

Thanks for the responses guys, unfortunately it’s not me selling them I want to buy them, I obviously couldn’t ask the seller to build Woden box’s, he doesn’t even really want to entertain shipping them so want to make it as painless as possible but with s good chance of getting wings that don’t look like bananas

Then go and collect them.

Any other way will result in them getting damaged. Dont expect anything otherwise....and condition is even more important as it's you who want them good !

i think the misses has seen through the “fancy a night away in *******” excuse now as it’s been used a few times

it’s too much for a day trip, esp as I’ve been flat out recently, I’m in talks with the seller at the mo so will see what I can come up with

How is 6 hours too far for a day trip? I drove 2 hours each way to south wales in a 1.2 corsa to pick up an exhaust, no pros at all

get going at 8, have an hour for lunch, you'll be home by mid-afternoon.

the wings will be guaranteed to arrive in perfect shape and save you lots of potential grief if they turn up damaged in the post

Burnzybubbles. Of course the seller isnt keen to send them as he knows that they will most likely get damaged en-route and that will lead to a dispute.
I sold a set of wheels and tyres a while back and the guy who bought them wanted me to package them up so a carrier could take them to Europe. It was a right pain in the arse and it took me about 3 hours to get them ready for shipment. I charged him extra money for doing it which he reluctantly paid. I would never do it again!
As others have said get up early and go and pick the wings up yourself. A 6 hour round trip is nothing and you can be confident you will get them home in one piece!!

I remember going from near bath to Blackpool to collect an engine in an old Renault 5 box van. Radiator was leaking and tyre had a nail in it so had to stop every 30 mins to top the rad up and pump the tyre up. Pissed down with rain all tge way there and back and the wipers were fooked. Took about 15 hours round trip.

Thanks guys, it’s more to the point I need to rest before I burn myself out, I’ve just been so busy recently, they are over Great Yarmouth way, so nice enough place to go visit but I need the rest.

They arent overly expensive, they are just in a rare colour and don’t come up very often, I think my only option is to drive like you guys mention but I’ll have to let the seller know my situation and see if he is willing to wait.

Allow yourself plenty of time, stop for a rest a couple of times in the services and it shouldnt be to hard!

It was mad, but I was young lol. Took it out cruising that night too lol.

The van had a bit of a funny story to it actually. It was leased to my work as a vehicle to use round camp and anyone could borrow it at the weekend if they had stuff to move. It was an M plate with only 20,000 on the clock. Anyway it turned out that when some silly cunt cooked it by not filling the radiator up (), the lease company was contacted and they had no record of it. We had been paying someone every month for this van, but no one actually knew who lol. So the lease company told us to weigh it in, and sent us a nice new Berlingo lol
