Default 1.8 RS1800 engine issue

Okay so here I am with a few issues. i use my RS1800 as a track car and tbh, it's great fun. However recently it's been giving me a few engine issues.

Last year in October 2016 I did Cadwell and damaged the oil crank rear main seal. The one behind the flywheel. I had the gearbox out and a friend put in a new one (mechanic and knows his fords) and also replaced the clutch as this was slipping due to contamination.

everything has been fine, no problems.

Did Doinington Park in Feb and the engine did well, catch can never filled up. No oil leaks. The only thing I did do was damaged a gearbox that had worn bearings.

So after a replacement all was well, nice spec gearbox. Had a few late night hard blasts and still, no signs of any leaks.

This week tho has seen the same issue I had at cadwell park last year. All was well on sighting laps, however after a 20 minute session around cadwell it started leaking out the crank main. Kept cleaning it, and checking the oil level. It wasn't dropping loads. It was also noticed that the breather catch can was filling up. By the end of the day I had filled a small sized water bottle 3/4 full. Breather runs from the rocker cover to the catch can and then a second pipe from the catch can to atmospheric. Still has the standard oil breather valve under the manifold. Also started to slip the clutch around half 4.

so it's where to go with this. Am i looking at a rebuild. Should the crank main just keep blowing. Or am I seeing too much crank case pressure and finding its weakest point. Or could it be the sump gaskit (not known when last done)

Am I best to get a compression test done before I start ripping out the engine

all advise welcome.

A cylinder leak down test might tell you more.

Or maybe run a breather system that incorporates a oil separator that returns any oil to the sump?
