SO my car is a 53 plate ford focus.....I wanna know what people might think the noise coud be that its making.

its like a whining noise when I pull away slowly and when I reverse. I haven't any problems changing gears...maybe slightly tiff at times....it sounds god awful and would like some ideas so I know Im not been duped when I take to the garage!

Also how much if it is the clutch needs replacing would it be round abouts!?

 

I doubt it's the clutch, more likely a gearbox issue or a dodgy bearing somewhere.

 

its like as Im bringing the clutch up and put the gas on that it start moaning/whining?

 

Before it actually moves or only when moving?

 

just as Im pulling away so no noise when Im still.

 

Sounds like what Rob was saying. Good news is a replacement box can't be much but depends on what the car is worth to see if worth spending much on it.

 

Why do you automatically assume a garage will try and dupe you?

But it does sound like a gearbox bearing that's gone,reverse always whines a bit but 1-5 should be quiet.

Or it could be the way your flip flop is applying pressure to the clutch pedal?
