Default Spitronics ecus..?

Hello everyone,
Has anyone ever used standalone ecu kits made by Spitronics?
I like the look of the Mercury 2 set up available off places like eBay, the tech. support looks good too, as does the firmware.
Anyone have any experience?
Cheers!

I seen someone on the V8 forum mention them a few years ago. They bought a complete kit, and it really was cheap !

Looking at their website etc, they do seem to have a fair amount of options and customers.

If on a budget I'd say give it a go. I did download their software back then too and whilst basic ( as you'd expect ) it looked ok.

Not much else out there as cheap if that's the sort of thing you're after.

Very true Steve,
I like the idea of an ecu that has a USB port, as well as the normal rs232 connector.
I'm pulling out the Weber L8 I'm running now, just because I can't reprogramme it easily. Time to move forward with technology too, run COPS, nitrous control , 36-1 wheel instead of the 4 tooth Weber version.
I'm gonna try it out.

USB is a PITA too sometimes, especially if it uses a shitty micro/mini USB. Too fragile.

Best systems now use ethernet....Super fast and totally reliable !

Although obviously a slightly different price range.

On a price point the Spitronics is hard to beat....but with limited local support, unless it really was a budget toy/project I think I'd spend the extra and buy something more local and proven.

I just looked on Spitronics website, they really are cheap.
For someone like me, who is only after a basic mappable ecu for a street only N/A dinosaur engine (2.8v6) to get away from the K-Jet. This system is definitely worth looking into.
I was going to go for the Link G4+ AtomII, but for a little bit more money than what I would be paying for the Link 2.5m wiring loom you can get a complete kit including the ECU+wiring looms+MAP sensor from Spitronics!!
Anyone here have any experiences with the Spitronics? Yes I know you get what you pay for, but must be a big step up from the K-Jet surely.

Thanks for the links
Looks like it could be a cost effective option for a batch-fired, distributored boat anchor
