Default anyone driven a corsa or fiesta for daily ?

ok currently looking for a cheap reliable runabout to use for couple years.

thinking about either a 2010 1.2 corsa or a 2010 fiesta zetec s 1.6. think the corsa would be cheaper to insure than the fiesta.

obviously the fiesta is more expensive and bigger engine being a 1.6l

and the corsa is cheaper to buy but smaller 1.2l engine so not sure how well it would cope on motorways etc.

ive never owned a 2010 corsa or fiesta just wanted peoples experiences if anyones driving or owned either car which you would prefer and why.

I have a mk7 fiesta zetec s as a daily. Handles really well and I do enjoy driving it. Found the seats uncomfortable at first but soon got used to them, I have since swapped them for some recaros from the ST.

The corsa engines are fooooookin shite. Timing chains always go on them.

I would defo reckonmend a mk7 fiesta. Imo there a miles better looking car. They also have a nice dash too.

Unless you're absolutely desperate to save money on fuel, insurance etc, get the Fezza. A week with a 1.2 Corsa and you'll be willing to do a deal to sell your left testicle to The Devil for another 5 horse power.

I bought a corsa for my grandsons first car, chain was already noisy and it lasted almost 18 months before the engine expired so have to agree that for that generation the fiesta is the better car

Have driven the new generation cars via long term rentals for a month or more and didn't get on with the fiesta and preferred the corsa

Have you considered a Seat Ibiza?

I bought a MK7 Fiesta brand new, And a Seat Ibiza brand new. The seat build quality was awful. I think in the 2 years I owned it it was recalled several times, and I had to return it to the dealership under warranty for 2-3 times. I found it unreliable.

My Mk7 Fiesta build quality is spot on. I have now owned it for 5 years, Ive done about 55,000 miles and I've only had to replace the front springs and get a new master cylinder for the brakes.

My partners brother bought a Corsa brand new, Its worn more than mine same age miles etc.

Fookin polo ha ha. What a boring looking car.

Me and the mrs had one as a courtesy car when she smashed her fiesta up. It would always steam up inside. There plastic trims coming off from all over. There was also a rattle from the dash.

The mk7 fiesta hasnt been the best selling car for the last 3 to 4 years for nothing.

My father in law has just bought a 14 reg 1.25 16v fiesta ans he loves it.

My mam (god bless her) had a 59 reg fiesta too.

My local garage has a couple of vw fox's as courtesy cars. They are shite. They also have bits of trim missing, the door seals piss water in when it rains.

You can't go wrong with a fiesta, mine is a 61 plate, has dab radio, heated screen, air con, powerfold mirrors etc. I don't think you will get much else as similarly specced for the money. My neighbours brand new beemer doesn't even have powerfold mirrors

cheers guys did not know corsa engines were unreliable.. from what people have said i think im certainly looking around for a mk7 fiesta trouble is most in my budget are very high mileage mk7 fiestas around 80-90k on clock.

maybe im being too picky but i thought that amount of mileage on the fiesta engine is just too high so might be on its last legs...

what would u say is a good mileage to look out for for a 2010 plate,

I'd look for a combination of things rather than just milage.

A high miler can be better than a badly maintained low milage car

i've driven mk7 fiesta's for the past few years on a daily basis, they are brilliant but there are 2 things that are really infuriating

if you put the pollen filter in the wrong way around it blocks the air flow and it's really rubbish, plenty of cars we've had have had this done by the idiots who are supposed to service them

the seat adjusters are on the sill side of the car, so difficult to twiddle that knob

but other than that they are fantastic cars to drive
