'06 Focus 1.6 petrol auto?
Why shouldn't I buy one if it's cheap enough for a runabout?
What's the common issues on them? Had a Mk1 TDCi, Mk1 RS, Mk2 TDCi in the past and had no problems with them.
Any pointers please?

I wouldn't say the auto box is the nicest box on the planet but they're not bad. They tend to suffer with instrument cluster issues causing them not to start as the PATS won't recognise the key. A sharp bang on the top of the dash normally gets them going temporarily but it'll need the cluster repairing or replacing. There's not really much else that plays up on them tbh. There's a few rusty ones cropping up now though.

Hi just read your post, Just wanted to say I have a auto focus and have done for the past 12 years now. I have had no problems with the gear box just the electrical problems of late. But apart from that trouble free, drove it in Europe on holiday without any issue. If you get a good that has been look after at a fair price, you could do a lot worst. The choice is up to you?
