Happened to me last December when I wrote my 55 plate Connect off all of the cars around and they just kept on driving, one fella stopped and asked if I was ok.

The accident in the video I'm pretty sure happened over in Kent and I think I drove past it on the opposite side, there is a white hgv artic in the distance on the opposite side I'm 99.9% sure that was me, when I saw the van I thought the occupants must have been killed, glad to hear the driver wasn't and he needed to put a few quid on the lottery that day

Shit! that's bad, what would cause that to happen? The lorry going to fast round the bend?

Slightly different scale but same principal. I saw a woman take a tumble in a shopping high road this morning, she must have tripped on a paving slab or something but she took a fall and dropped all her stuff. Two people stopped right next to her, I mean within feet of her, but just stood there looking at her, not even attempting to help, while more shoppers just walked past either oblivious or looking but not stopping. She eventually picked her self up, repacked her spilt bag and carried on. These people make me actually angry.

Driver thinks he is in a race car and not a lorry

I stopped for a lady in a broken down KA the other day, totally empty of oil and going nowhere, it was on a busy roundabout with 2 lane dual carriage way feeing it. I put the hazards on and pushed her to safety, no buggers stopped and one lady nearly ran over my ankles trying to get past. The amount of near misses was a joke. Luckily my neighbour came past and blocked the road and helped me push.

I think some of the passes by in the lorry pic may have been too scared to see the assumed dead bodies maybe?

I had that in the summer looked like 2 young ladies broken down just before the roundabout. I stopped to help and there was 2 more good looking young ladies in the car, so i helped to push the vehicle round the corner and got a hug and a kiss on the cheek from each one. Proper result for me.

Well that's a good reason to stop every time...as long as its not a hairy arsed lorry driver!

If I see someone innocently come a cropper I'll stop to help.

If I see someone driving like a twunt and crash as a result, I leave them to it. Only done this once and don't feel remotely guilty about it.

Load could have moved in the container. They're sealed and never know if it's secure inside but either way he was going o fast.

You'd be amazed when I put the van in a position for safety with flashing orange lights and orange cones out people still constantly driving at you like they don't expect me to be behind a broken down car

The standard of driving has gone well down hill.

Even in the trucking world its getting worse.

When i I used to do abnormal loads where the trailer swings out due to the rear steering and escort van warningmpeople they'd still cut up your inside by the trailer then get a rude fucking shock when it suddenly steers towards them.

I have only been a passenger in an artic a few times but that was a huge eye opener as to just how much room they need. I think an hour in the cab of a truck should be part of the driving test!

18 y arse I've been doing it and people's stupidity still amazes me.

A public buggering and beating to death should suffice as punishment.

I get the right hump with twats like that they literally que up behind the van I just pop out now and then and point at the beacons then carry on working. I had one guy come over and say to me once your in the way can we move it. I looked at the driver of the truck laughed then said to the twat that asked maybe you can help us push it it only weighs about 40 tons

To be fair the dickhead in the transit is a very poor driver. He doesn't even bother indicating it is changing lane. It looks like it is driving too fast behind the lorry and i bet it didn't use its mirrors to perform an awful lane change on a roundabout at speed, and the knob should have kept back to allow the lorry room to perform its manoeuvre. No need to speed ahead of something that big when the road is going into such a bend the lorry needs space to navigate the road.

I blame the transit for getting crushed. No sympathy from me.

You blame the transit for a truck toppling over going too fast round a bend

Dubious to overtake anything, especially a large vehicle, on a left hand curve - no sightline, you dont know what you're driving into. Even on motorways you get all sorts of weirdness like broken down vehicles, people wandering around the lanes etc.

That's not got anything to do with standard of driving though. That's because the majority of car/van drivers don't and haven't driven HGV's or large vehicles that have tail swing, so don't think about it or even know it exists. I have to watch my tail swing everyday in a bus because the wheels are so far in towards the middle, I have about a metre of overhang that swings out when I'm turning into roads, and I know that people won't be looking for it - not because they're bad drivers, but because the vehicles they drive don't have tail swing, so they won't be even considering it. I know I didn't before I started driving buses...

When I've got a car on the trailer out the back of the van or towing on the pole I have the orange strobe lights flashing and some of the manoeuvres people try to get round me as they don't want to be stuck behind me is unbelievable, when going round corners I have to go wider which no one seems to grasp and when I'm coming down a narrow road they just sit there knowing I've got a vehicle on the back but just sit there

its got everything to do with the standard of driving.

The Highway Code says to give larger vehicles more room yet they don't.
So ignoring the Highway Code and doing what they want has nothing to do with the standard of driving?

People are fucking morons plain and simple. They don't read the road ahead and look no further than the car in front so don't drive defensively and have bigger all awareness of what's going on around them.

I've seen people broken down before, its just judging the situation. I saw what looked like a young lady broken down on the side of the motorway, I was in the fast lane when I saw. less than 100 yrds ahead behind the concrete pillar for the bridge was a couple of guys waiting there. I took the next exit off and pulled up at a toll booth and the lady there asked if i'd seen it, apparently she'd had a couple of cars in front of me drivers mention it and the cops was on the way to see what they was planning.

Yes, I'd have gave the lorry plenty of space, Easy enough to overtake after the roundabout. Just wait for a long straight bit of road.

I've seen plenty of awful driving from vans and cars being impatient because of lorries.

But ultimately if the truck hadn't had been taking that corner like he was in the f1 the transit who was in his own lane on a duel carriageway would have been fine

Right just re-read the replies. Lorry tipping over, is own fault. But Vans fault for getting crushed. as per my reasons above. My confusion. Still the van driver is an idiot.

Both at fault - lorry was TFF, and it was an unsighted, and therefore unsafe, overtake from the van.

The van originally undertook the vehicle with the camera in. It then put itself on the outside of a truck as it's negotiating a bend, far too quickly.

Of course the van driver is at fault, any driver with at least half a brain would hang back behind the truck until it's taken the bend.

The biggest problem and cause of a lot of accidents is peoples impatience and lack of common courtesy.
My wife was coming home recently in her little Clio and she noticed a Police car with its sirens and lights flashing coming up behind her so she pulled in to the left to give it plenty of room to get past which is normal. The twat in the car behind her blew his horn and pulled out around her as he didnt even notice the approaching Police car!!!! Probably had his music cranked right up in his own little bubble and fuck whats going on around him!!
