Default powdercoating question

I'm in the middle of restoring a mk1 sierra and am stripping the rear axle down.

I'm getting the beam and wishbones powder coated and after some advice on the other parts.

The car is fitted with rear drums which i am keeping but can i get the backing plates powder coated or will this cause issues when rebuilding due to the thickness of the finish? Would i be better off getting them painted?

cheers Matthew

I powder coated a set of Capri back plates on my kitcar with no problems.

It's not as thick as you would think.
