I'm retrimming my headlining and the side pieces that fit in the rear from the roof lining down to parcel shelf
It looks like they are held in with clips and some screws lower down

Is there some sort of grommet or bland
Car had nothing in when I got it so have no idea what's there

Just put mine back together and mine only had the clips on the back of them that push in the pillar there is a hole lower down that the bolster covers I'm not sure of something is meant to go in there mine never did so I'm unsure on that

 

Just recovered mine. There was about 6 clips and 2 screws down the bottom each side. Hope this helps 👍

The side pieces
5 or 6 ribbed plastic plugs and 2 screws lower down.
Headlining
2 screws at the rear of the roof.
Put adhesive on the rear part so it sticks to the underside of the sunroof tray.
Apart from that the 3 Jesus handles,the 2 screws and round plastic washers at the drivers side,the door rubbers,sunroof aperture seal and interior light console are all that hold the headlining up.
I had a go at mine,made a mess so sent it to a trimmer who also made a mess so bought a headlining from gary at rs breakers in Portsmouth and was happy with what I received.
Now fitted and looks a million times better that the saggy headliner I had before.

It's the screws that im interested in
I've just recovered the panel but to put screws back you have to cut the material that I've just put on
I think there nest be some sort of cover or something

 

I think the plastics are what they use on all models, but are covered in cloth in the cosworth and possibly ghia, as cossie is ghia spec apart from the recaros. When I put screws back in mine, I just used a razor blade and made a cut about 3-5mm long. Soon as you've got the screw done up the material goes back and is barely noticeable. Once the rear side bolsters are in, they are not seen anyway. 😁

Which particular adhesive did you use? The original looks very thick and viscous.

 

Can't remember the brand but it was just some quick drying adhesive from b&q
