Hi all.
Bought a mk2 xr2 and the fuel gauge does not work.
The wiring a bit of a mess and I'm unsure what I'm looking for too.
There is 1 wire going to the sender, although I cannot see it I can see the single wire under the rear seat.
Should this be a positive or negative?
How many wires should go to the sender?
How can I test the actual gauge?
Thanks in advance.

Just tried that,nothing.
The battery light didn't work either so gave it an earth and that is working now.
How can I test the actual gauge on the dash and should the gauge have a pod feed going to it?
Thanks for the reply

Then either the gauge is faulty or there is a break in the circuit.
It does have a switched supply, the ground is the wire to the sender.
Your best off doing the test from the gauge itself.
What you have done with the WL will cause issues, you have effectively just created a light, which will remain on. It should be part of the charging circuit.
