Want to keep it original but think some alloys would be good. Any suggestions as I hadn't got a clue what would be suitable or limited size wise? I think the five spoke "rs" style wheels are nice but not sure they would fit etc. Ant other suggestions of improvement welcome, i'm just glad you've saved her goin for scrap.....

Bet there isn't a great deal of these left now , especially considering how they like to rot.

Have a good luck for corrosion before getting to carried away.

lol coming from mk4 cabrio owner?! All arches are solid as are most of the sills although there is some rust creeping in on them. It has been garaged but agree one step at a time 😁

Default Sills should i be concerned?

Near jacking point cowboys have mullered it
Not bad
Bit grotty
Not too bad
Ok ish
Nice and clean
there are some areas that will want sorting, may be better to do the whole lot instead of patch? The car gas passed it's Mot this time around so I have time to sort now. Am I meeting inner or outer sills or both? I know it's hard to tell from a few photos but there are no holes just looks a bit scabby.....

Give the scabs a bit of a prod with your finger and thumb, see if they remain solid.

Have a good look at the rear inner sills and chassis legs.

Scabs appear solid the area in the second photo moves when I press in which I presume is the outer sill but isn't a hole it just flexes when you push in.

That fact it flexes isn't good. By the time the next test is due it'll be through
