hi im in portsmouth have a mk3 escort van rs turbo powered.it has a series 1 loom and series 2 engine and has series 2 ecu fitted,hearts and diamond ecu..it originally runs till warm then runs really rich,someone had changed a connector to series 2 connector and plugged the wires on to the white sensor at back of engine,the yellow cts was not connected.i have reconnected the yellow sensor having refitted the correct connector block.the van runs but dont tick over and pops and bangs,it does not seem really rich now tho.i have a series one ignition ecu to use but not the fuel ecu.some people say i need to use s2 boxes but add or changed wires going to the ecu.saying the white sensor needs connecting up and the inlet manifold had a knock sensor which isnt used.is there any knowledgeable guys local to gosport/portsmouth who could assist? or lend a series 1 fuel ecu.years ago i had a series one and fitted s2 chipped boxes with no probs.i cant make head or tail of this.
