Default Engine mounts shaking car !

I brought my RST with Vibra-technics engine mounts fitted and they seem to really shake the car on idle which is getting annoying now, is there anything readily available that is a bit more forgiving ??

Are they road or race versions? I run race and although it was a shock at first it didnt take me long to get used to (daily car)

If they really bother you tho, you can either go for the road version (if race fitted), else back to standard rubber mounts - readily available aftermarket from motorfactors etc
Just make sure you get the right engine mount as these did vary slightly across the years. Gearbox mounts are the same throughout mk4 lifespan.

Default Idle speed......

Many years ago, I noticed that the engine vibration was less significant while on cold-start and worse with the lights on (alternator loading) so I now have the idle set at 1000 rpm warm with lights off. It does make it smoother (standard engine and mounts). Might be worth a try.

Flo Flex I think it was were the best I found, had a softer insert around the bolts so at idle was nice and smooth then poly for the rest.
Very hard to come by these days though.
