Default Escort cosworth with some WRC

I have just recently joined the forum, as I would like ti share my build with those who are interested. It started over 2 years ago when I purchased a group N escort cosworth. initially it looked good until I stripped the car down and found a few things I was not happy with. The car was totally stripped and a good 50% of the car was ever sold off or scraped. From here I was lucky to find and purchase a genuine unused escort cosworth rally shell fully stitch welded, so I had the reg transferred over due to no serial numbers on the new shell. The shell has never seen the road from new. Since owning the shell I have had the car fully converted to WRC, everything has been replaced or over hauled since I have owned it, the engine has built to WRC spec, with the latest wiring loom being built and everything replaced on the car, the only thing that remains from the original car now is the rear windows. I have added a few pictures of what it was and where it is now. All going well I will have the dry build done later this year then it will be stripped down and off to aint before I finally build it up again. I will add more pictures later.

Yeah, it will be good once it is done, just seems to take forever. But now I've got it booked in for painting I am hoping next year it will be on the road.

Thanks for that, I'm hoping to get mine as good as yours, I will be feared though to use it off road after all the work that has gone in to it.

Its built to rally, at some point you will crash it, no point building it if you are scared to use it mate.

I was thinking about it, but to be honest I haven't got the balls to do it. With the wheels fitted they come to the edge of the arch so I am going to leave them at the moment. Maybe it is something I will do in the future though. Or should I say I will get someone to do them for me.

It is a montune roller barrel inlet with ALS. The montune logo was removed.

Ive studied his thread closely, even though I am happy building the car I just don't feel confident to push out the rear arches. But not saying I won't have it done though. If I could find someone close to me who wants to the job then I would have to done.

Looks very very well the only reason i asked was cause i see there is more of a flare on the genuine ones at the bottom that's all.

As Alan said about the rear arch i see why you would be happy if your wheels are not hitting the back arch as it is a big enough job to do and get right with no damage. Here is a pic of my wrc style escos with the rear arches finished to show where my wheel sits.

Now that is looking excellent. I am lucky that none of my wheels are touching anything on the body work. So it might be just luck or the way way MK designed his turrets. I will certainly not rule out the possibility of flaring out the rear arches in the near future. But as I haven't got plans to throw it round a rally course I'm hoping I will be ok as it is. But I will certainly make a note from you guys and do what is required in the near future. If anyone fancies poping over to Norfolk to flare out my arches they are more than welcome. Yet again guys thank for the constructive feed back so far, and all the advice and guidance is great.

Well I haven't managed to do to much lately, but I finally got round to fitting my billet front flanges. The original standard front flanges were sleeved to suit the up rights. The new ones have been machined out as one peace to fit the up rights and accept standard drive shafts. Good work from Mark at MK.
