Hi - my 2005 focus mk2 went into limp mode last week, fault code read as EGR valve fault. Car reset itself the next day. I have previously had issue with car going into limp mode which was resolved last year by replacing half the wiring loom. Does anyone know if this latest fault is genuine and how can this be checked or is it another electrical glitch? I would rather not fork out £1000 to have the whole inlet manifold replaced which I what I have been told is needed. Thank you.

 

As strange as it seems try changing the heater plugs.
