How many litres is required to fill a cooling system on a ford focus ?
I am going to drain the water from my car and put new coolant in, just wondering how many litres of coolant it should take approximately to fill my car's cooling system ?
The car is a mk2 2006 ford focus sport 1.8 TDCI if this helps ?
thanks

You will never learn
You refuse to listen to any advice given...
From memory if you completely drain it all out you should be able to squeeze in 25 1/2 litres

Just add 50/50 mix of water and red/pink antifreeze untill expansion bottle is full and then run it up and when the level drops top it up to the max mark and then once car has cooled down re check the level

Coolant? Thats a bit old school. Fill it with a 50/50 mix of sand and sawdust - this creates less friction at the waterpump and allows for a few free bhp

I'm also pretty confident that it's illegal to tip antifreeze down the drain.
Garages have to pay to dispose of it

why would I want to drain tap water in a bucket, I told you it is tap water and It'll just pour onto the ground when I undo the radiator thing.

so you can measure how much came out since your not smart enough to read the quantities in the manual that you have.

why don't you just log back into the Focus Owners Club and check the replies as you asked all these questions on there last year.

Me
but then again if I fill it up to normal level it looks like I'm sitting in a puddle
To be fair a bigger bath is probably what I need but I'll regularly overfil it just so I get the feeling of having a bath like normal people

Yeah, i'd second this method
If you strain it through a sive you may find a touch of shit particles too.. I also favour a bag of sawdust in with the antifreeze..
This just gets better and better
