Default Hi I'm new

Hi all.
Just thought I'd say hello to you all.
Got my st170 last week. It's a 2002 three door with sunroof, climate control, xenons but high miles at 157000. Still goes really well and most of all I like it.

Welcome. Not much going on in here but your thread caught my eye because that's an Essex registered car. Where I is from, innit.

Thanks for the welcome. So why is it so quiet?
Wondered when someone would reply.
Cheers mate.

welcome, As long as you like your ST that's all that matters but fitting a stainless exhaust, bucket front seats and a steering wheel changes the character of the car for the better I think.
If I am anything to go by the motivation to work on the cars has just not come back yet, but its getting there slowly!!

To answer your question this isn't a good forum for ST stuff, despite the name.

Nice of you all to reply.
'The black count', maybe when the weather improves your enthusiasm will return lol.
I didn't enjoy getting under the car to change the oil the other day. Luckily it didn't take long.
Not too sure what I'll do to the st yet. I've contacted a local mobile remapping service who says they can give an extra 25 hp... which isn't too bad for Ł140.
Think I'll save up for a complete coilover set first though.
Mot is due next month so I'd better concentrate on that.

Same here Much prefer forums like this to facebook/twitter/all that crap.

Oil change is a pig isn't it. Had to resort to a hammer and long screwdriver to get my filter off, but it was worth it as the car sounds a lot better now.

Once I got it up on car ramps I was surprised it just came undone with one hand. Stupid location though as oil goes all over other components

Took me a while to even get the jack under it. Had to drive it on to a piece of 8x4 timber to get enough room. A set of ramps is definitely on my shopping list.
I've always taken the filter off before draining the sump in the past, on other cars, but I read something that said take the filter off last, so I did, and the only oil that got spilled was from the screwdriver hole(s).
Good squirt of Surfex HD underneath and a quick blast with the jet wash has the bottom of the engine looking like new. Well, like it's got less than 100k on it anyway

I did the same. Used some wood to raise it an inch then gingerly drove up the ramps.
I'll be cleaning up the engine too as it looks 'old'.
I got my st by swoping a1998 BMW 323i so the value of it s probably low that's why I'm not too bothered about its condition. Saying that, I'm not disappointed.

This forum's great, i've looked over a few and the passion and advice here is exceptional :-D Check out the Foxxie ST170 thread, epic journey there.

I'll be getting my magnum grey '03 5dr up and running in the next week or two. She's badly in need of an MOT but should sail through and then i'll get some pics up.
